Screening Plastic Particles at Fremach

Russell Finex’s high performance vibrating screen solution for processing polyamide particles helps Fremach to optimize its plastic production efficiency

Established in 1969, Fremach is a manufacturer of complex plastic, metal and mechanical components and compatible electronics for the automobile, consumer electronics, mobile telephony, and industrial markets. Headquartered in Diepenbeek, Belgium, Fremach operates with six manufacturing plants around the world delivering high quality plastic components for multiple industries.

As a leading supplier of innovative plastic products, it is imperative to maintain a high-quality product and supply demand balance. During the processing of plastic components, Fremach had faced some difficulties in quality management resulting in a decrease in production volume. In order to increase its productivity without compromising on product quality, Fremach approached Russell Finex to provide a suitable screening solution.

Flocking is a key stage of Fremach’s plastic production line which involves applying short polyamide fibres, usually nylon, rayon or polyester, directly on to a substrate that has been previously coated with an adhesive, which results in a soft-feel finish. However, the process was not fully effective and caused the company too much product loss due to the irregularities caused by oversized contamination of the flock fibres, which should be removed during the flock reclaiming process.

Industrial screener for polyamide fibre particles

After analyzing these specific requirements and providing a consultation, Russell Finex offered a trial with its Finex 22™ industrial vibro screeer at the Izegem plant in Belgium. With successfully completing the trials, it was established that the installation of the vibrating screen would meet the requirements and provide significant benefits. The new effective screening solution not only reduced Fremach’s production and lost product cost, but improved its product quality with minimum rejected products by quality control.
