Sieving machine for lactose powder

A high-capacity safety sieving machine, the Russell Compact Sieve® effectively screens lactose powder and removes pegging

The food industry is one where product quality must be faultless. As a result, it is imperative for food manufacturers to produce high quality product by maintaining food standards. A food manufacturer was looking for a high-capacity sieving machine to sieve lactose powder to achieve desirable throughput rates, whilst also improving their product quality. Lactose is a milk sugar, processed through fresh, pasteurised whey and has smaller particles closer to the mesh size which can cause mesh blinding.

This demonstration video shows how the 900mm Russell Compact Sieve®, efficiently screens lactose powder with the Vibrasonic® Deblinding System preventing the lactose from blinding or blocking the mesh, increasing screening efficiency and productivity.

The Russell Compact Sieve® is a popular food powder sieving machine due to its safety screening features, compact size, and ability to deliver high throughput rates. The enclosed system ensures high-quality products by eliminating oversize contamination from powders and liquid slurries. Due to its simple design, the 900 mm diameter sieve can screen lactose at rates up to 12T/hr. This innovative unit is also available in different sizes from 600mm to 1200mm diameter, and can be custom-built as per the customer’s unique requirements.

The Vibrasonic® Deblinding System is the ideal ultrasonic powder sifter to sieve difficult food powders on finer meshes down to 20 microns, and when combined with the high capacity the Russell Compact Sieve®, the system becomes the ultimate solution for check-screening food powders like lactose.
