It is important that additive manufacturers screen incoming powders such as titanium, aluminium, stainless steel, copper and other metals, plastics and ceramics to ensure the highest quality before use in production. This demonstration video shows how the Russell AMPro Sieve Station™ qualifies virgin titanium powder for use in additive manufacturing. The powder is conveyed from the container into the powder handling system, purged with inert gas and is then fed through a high-performance vibratory sieve to ensure there is no contamination. All qualified powder can then be collected for use in production. The entire process can be automated, and the HMI screen clearly displays each operation.
